Detailed Step by Step Guide for Teachers

1. Create groups to organize participants.

Login to your V-Admin account. Click "Add Group" to create a separate file for a group of participants. Each group is assigned a unique Group Code. This code is how participant data is directed into the correct group file. You can see each Group Code by first highlighting the group and then clicking "Create Instructions."

2. Create printed Signup instructions for participants.

Select the group that you want and then click "Create Instructions." Choose either English or Japanese instructions and print out one copy of the basic form. Write in the additional information that is required from you (See further instructions on the form itself). After completing the instructions form, make enough photo copies to give one copy to each group participant.

3. Participants Signup for the Word Engine.

Each participant independently creates their own personal Word Engine account. The V-Check vocabulary test will start automatically immediately after they create their Word Engine account.

4. Participants must enter the correct Group Code.

The instruction sheet that you give to each student will describe how to enter the correct Group Code on the "Settings" page of their Word Engine account. Once they have entered the correct Group Code, their names will appear in the appropriate group.

5. Participants must enter an Access Code.

To begin studying a course with the Word Engine, participants must purchase an Access Card from a bookstore or purchase an Access Code online. Once they enter their Access Code they can begin studying their assigned course and their data will flow to your V-Admin account. If you are working simultaneously in a language lab remember that you must hit the refresh button before new data will appear on your V-Admin screen.
